Here are some events that may be of interest to you:

I would like to invite you to visit the Madison Art Guild 2010 Salon, University Hospital - C5/2 Skylight Lounge, 600 Highland Avenue.  The exhibit opened June 5th and will close July 31st.  Each member of the Guild is required to exhibit one piece of their art. Thus, you will find my photo of Mary's Peak in Fog among the many pieces of art on display.

You will continue to find my work in the Kaleidoscope Gallery and Market Place, 101 E. Main St., Mt. Horeb, WI. The Bradley Art Gallery, 183 W. Main St., Stoughton, WI, and The Red Door Gallery, 131 W. Court St., Richland Center, WI.

JULY PHOTO

4th of July ParadeMy photo for July is the 4th of July Parade, 2009, at Witwen, Wisconsin. As a reminder of the grand experiment we are living and celebrating please read the Preamble of The Declaration of Independence that established the United States of America.

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed." Thomas Jefferson, July 4, 1776.

"The second day of July 1776 will be the most memorable epocha in the history of America. It ought to be soleminized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of the continent to the other from this time forward forever more." John Adams writing in a letter to his wife Abigail.

Why the 2nd of July? That was the day the Continental Congress formally adopted the Resolution declaring the colonies independent of Britain. We celebrate the 4th, rather than the 2nd, because that is the day Congress adopted Thomas Jefferson's wording of the official Declaration of Independence.

I trust you and yours are following the recommendation of John Adams.
